Outline
Managing and harnessing the talent and industry of employees have become the cornerstone to achieving an organisation’s business goals. This starts with understanding the rights and obligations of the organisation as well as the employees under Singapore’s legal framework. Whether it be dealing with individual contracts or as a group through the representation of trade unions, it is pivotal that managers, front line supervisors and HR professionals have a working knowledge of employment laws and guidelines governing the employer-employee relationship.
This 2-day course will equip participants with a comprehensive understanding and application of key features of Singapore’s labour legislation enabling them to deal effectively with issues including coverage of the Employment Act, contributions to the Central Provident Fund, employment of foreign manpower, post retirement re employment. Participants will also learn to apply.
After the delivery of this module, participants should be able to:
Interpret and apply the requirements of the Employment Act (EA).
Understand employer’s and employee’s rights and obligations under the EA.
Apply legislation appropriate in an employer-union relationship.

Noel Khng
Noel Khng has more than 20 years’ experience in the Human Resources field. For 18 of the 20 years he worked for the Shell Group of Companies where he had taken on roles as a generalist as HR Manager for its Chemicals plant, as well as specialist roles in Recruitment, Staff Administration, Employee and Industrial Relations, HR Information Systems and Learning and Development. Currently, Noel is an associate lecturer and consultant with a number of reputable institutions specialising in HR
related programmes. He has also successfully developed numerous Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) HR related courses for the SingaporeWorkforce Development Agency (WDA).

Funding Criteria
Trainee must attend at least 75% of the course, complete the assessment with a pass or competent result.
Trainee needs to key in the details as mentioned in the eRegistration Form and email the Mandatory Document(s) to the Training Provider.
SkillsFuture Credit

Application for SkillsFuture Credit
Upon receipt of email confirmation, trainee will need to log in to SkillsFuture Credit portal to apply for the SkillsFuture
Credit and upload the email confirmation & Tax Invoice. Take a screen shot of the approval with the amount applied for and the word ‘approved’, scan and email it to Training Provider before commencement of the course and upon making fee payment. Training Provider will collect the NETT Fee (i.e. less the SkillsFuture Credit amount) from trainee.
The receipt that will be issued to trainee will indicate an outstanding amount (i.e. the SkillsFuture Credit amount) which Training Provider will claim from SkillsFuture Credit after the successfulcompletion of the short course.

The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) encourages employers to invest in enterprise transformation and capabilities of their employees. Eligible employers will receive a one-off S$10,000 credit to cover up to 90% of out-of-pocket expenses on qualifying costs for supportable initiatives, over and above the support levels of existing schemes.

NTUC members enjoy UTAP* benefit of up to $250 each year when you sign up for the 2-day Short Course – effective up to
March 2025 for self-sponsored NTUC members.
*UTAP supports 50% of the course fees paid cap at $250 per year. Trainee must be a union member throughout the course duration and at the time of claim. Trainee must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and have sat for all prescribed assessment. Other terms and conditions apply.
