Outline

The course will cover all the 5 Functional Competencies and their sub-competencies plus the 3 Foundational Competencies (excluding Labour Policies and Legislation which is assessed in Paper A). The mindsets and behavioural competencies are intertwined throughout the course to provide participants with greater contextualisation and to facilitate understanding.


Objectives

This is an intensive 2-day Course to enable HR practitioners to be competent in the roles and responsibilities of a HR personnel throughout the HR Life Cycle of Plan, Attract, Develop, Engage and Separate in accordance with the IHRP Body of Competencies. The course is also designed for HR personnel to be better prepared for the IHRP-CP (Certified Professional) assessment of Paper B.

After the delivery of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the Five main functional and foundational competencies at an IHRP Certified Professional Level
  • Apply the Five main functional competencies within the Mindsets and Behavioural perspectives
  • Be able to tackle assessment equivalent to an IHRP Certified Professional Level

Who Should Attend

The course is designed for HR personnel who wish to be competent in the roles, responsibilities, and application at a Certified Professional Level. Most suitable for Heads of Departments, Compensation & Benefit Managers, Compensation & Benefit Executives and Officers, HR Senior Managers, HR Managers, HR Executives and Supervisors or any Managers/Executives who have responsibilities in manpower resources, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and any equivalent nature of work.


Course Delivery

A total of 16 hours with in-class discussions and presentations over 2 full weekdays. This will include 2-hrs of open-book assessment.

  • 16 Hours (16-hours does not include lunch break for both days)
  • 18 IHRP CPD Hours (includes 2-hours lunch break for both days)
  • 09:00AM to 06:00PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break) *Registration commences at 08:30AM



Assessment Method

The 2-Day Short Course focus on the Focal Topics of IHRP Paper B Assessment.

 

There will be an Open Book Assessment conducted within the 2-Day Short Course.

 

This is to help trainees understand the absorption of Learning Outcome, a short assessment is given within the 2-Day Short Course (16-hours).

 

The purpose of the short assessment is to help the trainees to know their SWOT and does not guarantee the success/failure in the actual IHRP Certification Assessment.

 

Trainees must achieve at least 75% attendance and must have passed the competency assessments to attain the Certificate of Completion.

Award of Certificate

Trainer Profile

Our Trainer

Alvin Goh

Alvin is an accomplished international senior business manager with over 20 years of experience in the financial and consulting industry, where he played key roles in various business and human capital transformation projects that have translated to net bottom line growth of USD100 million. He spent over seven years in a regional bank covering 15 cities as the Chief HR Officer and Chief of Staff. 

 

Highly adaptable to corporate transformation, human capital management, and business growth, Alvin enjoys the challenges of solving complex business issues. His practical competencies and influential people skills have been well evidenced in various M&A, transformational, and corporate development projects he has personally undertaken. More recently, he provided end-to-end leadership in a business transformation and created a new operating model that resulted in an immense improvement in employee satisfaction and top-line business growth. He was also instrumental in the conceptualization & development of a predictive and preventive human capital model that has enabled the identification of talent earlier in their careers and the deployment of these talents. 

 

In more recent settings, Alvin has been working alongside the Ministry of Manpower on the Fair Consideration Framework since 2021 in Workstream 1 and Workstream 2. He has also been recently appointed by the Ministry of Community, Culture, Youth and Sports to serve a two-year term on Singapore National Integration Council.  

 

Alvin has lived and worked in China, France, and Vietnam. He has done long-term global consulting engagement work where he deepened his international business acumen and an appreciation of the need for diversity of thought. He obtained his Bachelor of Business from Australia, where he graduated with distinction, and pursued his MBA from the University of Western Australia's Graduate School of Management. He is currently undertaking his Doctorate studies.  


IHRP CPD Hours

On completion of this course, trainees will earn 18 HR-related Training Hours that can be applied towards Application for or Renewal of IHRP certification.

  2. Once we have received the registration and confirmed that the course is set to commence, we will send a course confirmation email to the registrant and request the mandatory documents required for submission.
  3. Once the mandatory documents have been submitted, we will proceed with enrolment and apply for the SSG training grant on TPGateway (for funded courses).
  4. Once the above process is completed, we will prepare the invoice.
  5. Once the invoice is generated, we will send it to the participants.
