Congratulations to Berlinda, who won the Bronze Award, specialising in Reward Management at the 72nd Joint Graduation in Absentia. Below is an account of the opportunities and experiences she has gained through the course. 

“Starting out as an HR executive without any relevant certification was quite the adventure for me! My key role is within the Learning and Development department, where I am responsible for coordinating training for both office staff and foreign workers. 

I am incredibly grateful to HSC Pipeline Engineering Pte Ltd for sending me on this course to upskill and learn the nuances of people management, especially given my initial lack of experience. 

One of my biggest challenges has been completing assignments on time. Each task can be quite complex, and everyone has different opinions on the best approach. However, through this challenge, I have developed new critical thinking skills that help me efficiently gather, process, and analyse information, allowing me to extract the right data and achieve accurate results. 

This journey has also been a whole new experience in teamwork. I deeply appreciated my team’s dedication when we gave up our National Day public holiday to meet up, brainstorm, and decide on our calculations and presentation styles, despite our differing viewpoints. 

To my delight, I was thrilled to learn that I was one of the top three medallists! This achievement has motivated me even more to share with others taking the course that success often comes after facing and overcoming failures. So, never stop learning!”
