Press Release: Singapore HR Awards 2026 Celebrates HR Excellence as Aileen Tan Receives Global HR Honour
September 30, 2026
SINGAPORE, 30 September 2026 – Singapore’s HR community celebrated a landmark evening at the 19th Singapore HR Awards, as Ms Aileen Tan, Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer of Singtel, received the prestigious Georges Petitpas Award, alongside the recognition of outstanding organisations and leaders advancing people and workplace practices.
GEORGES PETITPAS AWARD
Conferred once every two years by the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA), the Georges Petitpas Award is one of the highest international honours in the HR profession.
Ms Tan is the first Singaporean and first female recipient from Asia Pacific to receive the award. Ms Tan, who was named Best HR Leader at the 18th Singapore HR Awards in 2025, was subsequently nominated by SHRI for the Georges Petitpas Award in recognition of her longstanding contributions to the HR profession and her leadership in advancing people and organisational practices in Singapore and internationally.
“When Aileen was recognised at the Singapore HR Awards in 2025, we saw an opportunity to bring her contributions to a wider international stage, and SHRI was proud to nominate her for the Georges Petitpas Award. Her recognition demonstrates what Beyond Singapore means for us: creating pathways for Singapore’s HR leaders and practices to contribute to, influence and be recognised by the profession internationally,” said Mr Alvin Aloysius Goh, Chief Executive Officer of SHRI.
Ms Aileen Tan said, ““I am deeply honoured to receive this award, and grateful to my colleagues at Singtel and to the many partners, professional bodies and HR leaders in Singapore and around the world who have supported, challenged and taught me over the years. I hope this recognition also shines a light on the responsibility we have to strengthen the profession and support the next generation of HR leaders. By creating more opportunities for people to learn continuously, build new skills and remain adaptable throughout their careers, we can help organisations transform, enable people to thrive and leave the profession stronger for those who come after us.”
19th SINGAPORE HR AWARDS – SPECIAL AWARDS
The evening also recognised outstanding leadership at the organisational level.
SBS Transit Ltd was named the Best Employer, Stanley Huang Tian Guan (SP Group) was named Best CEO, while Dr Jaclyn Lee (Certis) received the Best HR Leader award, recognising their leadership in strengthening people, culture and organisational performance.
This year’s Singapore HR Awards received 155 submissions from 70 organisations across 10 award categories. Following an independent judging process, 147 submissions were recognised as winners.
Three new categories were introduced this year to reflect emerging priorities in the profession:
“Aileen’s recognition with the Georges Petitpas Award is a proud moment for Singapore and for the HR profession in our region. It reflects the impact that HR leaders from Asia Pacific can make on the global stage. At the Singapore HR Awards, we see that same commitment to excellence across organisations and leaders who are strengthening workplaces, building workforce capability and creating lasting value for people and business. These are the standards we want to continue advancing, in Singapore and across the wider HR community,” says Ms Low Peck Kem, President of SHRI and the WFPMA.
Held under the theme “The Sound of Heart Work”, the 19th Singapore HR Awards celebrates the work behind strong organisations, from the leadership decisions and people practices to the everyday efforts that shape employees’ experience of work.
