Announcement
Singapore, 26 September 2024 – The Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) formalises partnership with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 26 September 2024. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in SHRI’s mission to champion progressive people management practices and further strengthen HR capabilities in Singapore and the region.
Why is this important?
Amidst Singapore’s evolving workforce dynamics – from an ageing population to digital disruption – HR professionals must adopt new strategies to stay competitive. This partnership aims to benefit more than 1,100 certified coaches and 30,000 HR leaders, people managers, and coaches with skills to boost employee engagement, retention, and growth.
“In a volatile and complex era, our partnership with ICF is pivotal in transforming HR practices today to prepare for the challenges of tomorrow”, said Mr Alvin Aloysius Goh, Executive Director, SHRI. “By integrating coaching into HR strategies, we are equipping professionals with the tools they need to navigate this rapidly evolving landscape and ensure a future-ready workforce.”
A New Approach to Talent Retention and Growth
In today’s complex business environment, coaching has emerged as a vital tool in driving employee development and engagement. The SHRI-ICF partnership emphasises collaboration between HR professionals, people managers, and coaches to prepare organisations to thrive in an increasingly complex landscape.
“This collaboration presents a remarkable opportunity to cultivate a culture of excellence in coaching and human resource development. Together, we will provide valuable insights and opportunities for HR professionals, enhancing their capacity to lead organisations sustainably through the transformative power of coaching,” stated Ms Amily Ang, President, ICF Singapore Chapter.
The partnership will involve milestone events celebrating SHRI’s 60th Anniversary and the ICF’s 30th Anniversary. Key initiatives, such as Experience Coaching Events and a Speaker Series, will give HR leaders and business professionals access to cutting-edge coaching practices and professional development opportunities. Attendees can earn Continuous Coaching Education (CCE) credits recognised by ICF, positioning them at the forefront of modern HR strategies.
Regional Impact
By leveraging SHRI’s established platform and ICF’s global expertise, the partnership not only strengthens Singapore’s HR ecosystem but also creates ripples across the region. As ASEAN countries face similar workforce challenges, SHRI and ICF’s collaboration serves as a blueprint for progressive HR and coaching practices throughout Southeast Asia.
