Press Release: SHRI Celebrates New Milestone with Centre Launch & Partnership Signing Ceremony

July 10, 2025

Singapore, 9 July 2025 – The Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) marks a major milestone with the official launch of its new office at 47 Hill Street, SCCCI Building. The Centre Launch & Partnership Signing Ceremony brought together nearly 80 people leaders and industry stakeholders for an afternoon of purposeful dialogue and collaboration.

The event featured the signing of four strategic MOUs and a panel discussion on Skills-First Hiring and Workforce Development, reflecting SHRI’s commitment to shaping the future of work through deeper partnerships and a bold, forward-looking vision for the people profession.

Gracing the event as Guest-of-Honour was NTUC Assistant Secretary-General Mr Patrick Tay, who delivered an opening address and joined fellow panellists in discussing how skills-based approaches can transform hiring practices and workforce development across sectors.

SHRI formalised four key partnerships with the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), Human Resources Management Congress (HRMC), James Cook University, Singapore Campus (JCU Singapore), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka. These MOUs signal SHRI’s push beyond Singapore and beyond traditional HR, strengthening its position as a catalyst for people transformation across industries and borders.

More information about the MOUs
As the world of work continues to evolve, SHRI is advancing a future-ready direction rooted in capability building, regional collaboration, and skills-first growth. The Centre Launch & Partnership Signing Ceremony marked a meaningful step in this journey, as SHRI joined hands with like-minded organisations committed to building a more agile, inclusive, and resilient workforce.

MOU with Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF)
This MOU establishes a partnership to jointly promote and cross-market selected training programmes to our respective networks, with the aim of strengthening workforce upskilling in Singapore. More than a promotional effort, this collaboration reflects a shared belief that people strategy and business strategy are inseparable. HR and business are intrinsically linked, and through this partnership, SHRI and SNEF seek to bridge these domains more intentionally, equipping HR professionals with capabilities that drive tangible business outcomes.

MOU with James Cook University, Singapore Campus (JCU Singapore)
Through this MOU, SHRI and JCU Singapore will deepen research collaboration in the field of people management, introduce SHRI membership fee waivers for eligible JCU-affiliated HR professionals, and create more opportunities for co-hosted events and learning initiatives. At the heart of this partnership is our shared mission to prepare the next generation of HR leaders for the future of work. By offering greater exposure and industry engagement, we aim to equip students and early-career professionals with both the knowledge and applied insight needed to navigate an evolving workforce landscape.

MOU with Human Resources Management Congress (HRMC)
As workforce needs become more sector-specific, SHRI is steering towards a targeted, industry-based approach to HR development. Our collaboration with HRMC marks a strategic move to address the unique needs of high-tech and semiconductor industries, ensuring these sectors are supported with tailored people strategies and ground-up leadership representation.

[Virtual Signing] MOU with Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka
This MOU strengthens SHRI’s regional collaboration with CIPM Sri Lanka, building on SHRI’s expanding network of cross-border partnerships. The collaboration will support joint initiatives in certification, research, professional events, and thought leadership. It reflects SHRI’s ongoing commitment to go beyond Singapore, creating shared platforms for knowledge exchange and capability building, and uplifting people management standards across the region.
