Learning Overview

An employee contract is a collation of an organisation’s Human Resource policies, procedures, terms of conditions of employment, working conditions, and code of conduct that guide employees’ behaviour in the organisation.

The objectives of an employee contract include providing:

  • employees with a working guide to the understanding of the day-to-day administration of human resource policies and practices
  • a general summary description of the company’s HR policies
  • information on employee benefits, and expected code of conduct.

The handbook also ensures that all HR policies and practices conform to legal requirements.
