Counselling Skills for HR Professionals

In today’s complex working world, HR professionals definitely need to be equipped with counselling skills other than just dealing with staff selection, appraisal, training etc. as they also have to handle employee’s grievances, conflicts between employees and poor performance.

These counselling skills would help HR professionals to handle employee’s grievances, conflicts or performance-related problems in ways that not only it rectifies the situation but also increase employee’s productivity. HR professionals would also be able to handle disciplinary matters more competently.

This programme is a skills-based course designed for those who are performing HR function, or who have some experience, but no formal training, who would like to broaden their counselling knowledge and develop their counselling skills.

Profile of Trainer

CP Tham is a senior HR Business Partner specialising in Learning, Talent and Organisation Development. He has gone to various  organisations and assumed key HR roles in the Singapore Civil Service, Multi-National Corporations (IT, Medical, Insurance Brokerage & Professional Services) and Banking & Finance Institutions. He has more than 8 years of specialist experience in designing and conducting programs and solutions leveraging on various psychometric profiling tools and assessments. Currently he is the Regional HRBP for the top e-Commerce business in South-East Asia. From time to time CP provides his expertise to the Singapore HR Institute as their Senior Associate Consultant and Adjunct Lecturer focusing on enhancing the HR practice in Small & Medium Enterprise in Singapore, facilitating programs for HR practitioners and at the same time supporting the partnership that the institute has with their counterparts in Myanmar, designing the first HR certification program that was launched locally in Sept 2016. Since 2014, CP has spoken at various HR seminars and conferences in the region, on various HR related topics especially in Talent and Organisation Development.
